Mid-Level Donor Engagement Coordinator – Full Time

 Community and Donor Engagement Team

Hamilton, Ontario

Salary:  $63,900- $71,700

Position Description: As the Mid-level Donor Engagement Coordinator, you will have a key role in strengthening Indwell’s relationship with donors, encouraging the increase and frequency of giving, and increase donor retention.  You will contribute to the financial sustainability of a growing, dynamic charity.  Reporting to the Director of Community and Donor Engagement, this position will provide excellent gift stewardship and develop Indwell’s mid-level donor program as part of an ambitious fund development and communications team.

Every door we open together becomes a solution to homelessness.  We are the fastest growing developer of new supportive housing in Ontario creating affordable, high quality, energy efficient housing communities, coupled with supportive programs, to over 1200 tenants to meet their needs of health, wellness, and belonging.  

 

Hours of Work/Location:  Full time 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday. Based in Hamilton with occasional travel to the other communities in which Indwell has programs (London, St. Thomas, Kitchener, Cambridge, Simcoe, Woodstock, Mississauga). Must have own vehicle and a valid “G” class driver’s license. Mileage paid when travelling outside of Hamilton.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:   

 

  • Expressing gratitude to donors and report to them on the impact of their gift as part of Indwell’s commitment to providing excellent gift stewardship
  • Conduct discovery conversations with selected donors and contacts to determine their points of connection, interests, and communication preferences
  • Present donor offers and funding requests to current  and prospective donors   
  • Host and participate in donor cultivation events and activities
  • Oversee implementation of  a new donor welcome program
  • Promote Hope Builders and Sponsor a Suite recurring giving programs
  • Promote participation in Agents for Hope and other giving groups
  • Research to identify and qualify donors for cultivation for major and/or planned giving
  • As part of the Community and Donor Engagement Team, contribute to meeting the financial goals and work plan objectives that support  Indwell’s Strategic Plan
  • Record donor information and interactions  in the Constituency Relationship Management (CRM) system

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE BRING:   

 

  • A commitment to upholding and modeling Indwell’s mission statement, values, Statement of Faith, and other operating standards and policies, reflecting them in all interactions and decisions 
  • Demonstrated successful experience in customer/donor relations and gift solicitation  
  • Undergraduate degree, college diploma or comparable combination of education and work experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to communicate easily and positively verbally and in writing, as well as to listen with sensitivity
  • Flexibility and adaptability as a team player; proven skills in collaborating with others 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and a Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system 
  • Ability to maintain tenant and donor confidentiality
