The Manager, Human Resources (on-site) is a generalist position which has a tangible impact on Operations, Culture and Employee Engagement. 

 

The position has a focus on Payroll, Health and Safety, Recruitment and Employee Engagement.  The opportunities to positively impact culture, engagement, and operations are endless given the broad scope of the role in addition to these specific areas of focus.

 

This position reports directly to the VP of HR and Corporate Services and will be responsible for supporting the Company’s HR department to develop and coordinate HR policies and practices, ensure HR excellence, employee engagement, compliance, and alignment to Company values.  The position supports all business units (GoRight Fleet Solutions, Mirlin Technologies and Wabash Canada), in all locations, and provides opportunities for involvement, learning and growth across the full spectrum of HR functions.    

 

In partnership with members of the HR team, the Manager, Human Resources will develop and implement HR programs and policies that support the Company’s strategic objectives and HR excellence mandate.  The Manager, Human Resources will:

 

  • Be a champion for culture and engagement and organizational change initiatives, partnering with other members of the HR team to ensure alignment and consistent candidate, employee and manager experiences
  • Provide leadership and coaching to HR Generalist
  • Lead engagement events for locations as needed, with a “one Company” focus
  • Develop manager toolkits on a variety of HR topics
  • Participate in the development and delivery of HR Excellence programs and provide training and support to managers regarding HR excellence programs
  • Develop, implement and support Health and Safety programs
  • Act as a back-up for Payroll (Dayforce)
  • Utilize change management expertise to drive change and positively impact organizational culture
  • Leverage knowledge of HR compliance matters, employment law and Health and Safety

 

Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR management or a related field
  • CHRL designation
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in transportation or manufacturing/operations
  • Deep level of experience and expertise using Dayforce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • The ability to travel to different work locations on a periodic basis
  • Unquestionable personal integrity, fairness and credibility necessary to gain the trust and commitment of individuals at all levels of the organization, and the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues in a professional manner
