Backoffice Specialist II

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced IT Backoffice Specialist with 5+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, providing high-level technical support, and driving innovation in our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructure
• Implement and oversee vulnerability assessment and patch management strategies
• Design and execute server automation processes using infrastructure as code (IaC) principles
• Collaborate with network engineers to integrate server infrastructure with networking components
• Manage cloud infrastructure and assets, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
• Provide escalation support for critical incidents and participate in on-call rotations
• Oversee IT equipment lifecycle, including purchasing, deployment, and decommissioning
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Monitor and ensure optimal performance of IT systems and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex issues across various IT domains (servers, networks, applications)
• Stay current with emerging technologies and security threats, recommending improvements as needed
• Contribute to the development of IT policies, procedures, and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Mac OS environments
• Expertise in VMware virtualization technologies
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) and experience with automation tools
• Proficiency in SQL Server administration, including clustering and high availability setups
• Hands-on experience with cloud services, preferably Azure
• Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
