We are currently seeking a Shop Supervisor to join our team in Hino Langley.  As the Shop Supervisor you will provide mentorship and development to a team of technicians while overseeing all daily shop operations. Provides oversight during diagnostics and mechanical repairs to ensure technician productivity and efficiencies are maximized while maintaining safety and quality control standards.

What You'll Do

  • Providing oversight and mentorship to technicians, offering direct feedback to enhance shop efficiency.
  • Guiding shop activities to foster a positive teamwork environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Training technicians on repair and diagnostic procedures, including hands-on support as needed.
  • Processing work orders and collaborating with parts and service support teams to provide accurate estimates.
  • Delegating work assignments and verifying completed repairs to uphold quality standards.
  • Monitoring shop efficiency, productivity, and labor hours to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Assisting the Parts & Service Manager across dealership functions as required.
  • Advocating for overall dealership safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Internal communication with Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts Department, other managers, and support teams.
  • External communication with suppliers, manufacturers, customers, Hino dealers, and OEM technical support.
  • Supervising, leading, training, and mentoring direct reports in alignment with company culture and policies.
  • Facilitating effective orientation for new hires and ensuring ongoing training as necessary.
  • Conducting performance reviews according to company performance management schedules.

What You Bring 

  • Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic trade qualification is required.
  • Red-Seal Certification is required.
  • Cummins Certified preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License, minimum of class 5 (Driver’s License class 3 with Q endorsement considered an asset) and Driver’s Abstract acceptable to TDF Group’s Driver and Vehicle Safety Program.
  • Strong computer skills and competency with BMS System, Microsoft Office, as well as diagnostic software and online manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills that align with the Company’s core values.
  • Ability to demonstrate management skills and strong leadership competencies (previous management experience would be considered an asset).
  • Ability to solve problems independently following company guidelines and policies.
