We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Corporate Development team at Corus Orthodontists. The Corus partnership currently has over 50 practices in Canada and the US, and we are looking for a keen individual to join our network. About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development, this position is responsible for owning financial practice performance data analysis and utilizing that information to help provide key strategic insight into our current practices and the acquisition of prospective practices. This position also partners with the Accounting, Operational, Marketing and Talent teams to streamline and review associate doctor requests and appropriate fellowship program options with the intention of maximizing transitional practice performance. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Calgary, Alberta (hybrid- 2 days/week in office).

Responsibilities:

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Prepare financial models, valuation, EBITDA calculations and various scenario analyses
  • Work closely with prospective partners and their advisors throughout the deal life cycle
  • Work closely with senior leadership to support strategic deal negotiations
  • Assist in preparation of internal discussion documents, Board materials, and external presentations
  • Conduct relevant industry, market, and competitive research
  • Design and prepare templates and presentation materials
  • Support with ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Providing business analysis and support relating to the evaluation of the efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness of current and prospective practices
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of practice results
  • Prepare and integrate internal data to analyze, make recommendations to support business strategy, and prepare corporate business plans

 

About You:

The Senior Analyst will possess strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and data analysis skills. Excellent forward looking analysis and communication skills, a natural comfort with managing and interpreting data, and an appreciation for detail will define success in this role.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related area
  • CPA, CBV or CFA designation, or working towards, preferred
  • Three to five years of related experience
  • One or more years of direct work experience in an M&A or FP&A role would be an asset
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau and other data and analytics software would be an asset
  • Strong project management and team skills, including the ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a results-oriented business approach
  • Ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced, start-up environment – comfortable creating new systems and procedures with limited resources and time sensitive implementation
  • Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills
