The Community Collaborator will work with members of the Communities and Healthy Aging project team to support a community who would like to make the program accessible to its members.

 

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Engage with community members to identify activities of interest that could be incorporated into programs (ie: cooking, music, art, physical activity, etc.)
  • Support the partner organization with scheduling, communicating program updates with participants, preparing for programs, communicating with other members of the Communities and Healthy Aging project team (ie: Project Manager and Project Assistant)
  • Assisting the project team in identifying resources that could be translated into Mi’kmaw. Possibly liaise with a translator.

 

Qualifications for this role is knowledge of existing programs and services within the community, willingness to attend training opportunities provided by employer and familiarity with Microsoft 365 softwares (Office). Lived experience and/ or knowledge of the risk factors associated with dementia and fluency in Mi'kmaw language considered an asset.

 

6-month term position with possibility for renewal. Part-time for 14 hours per week at a rate of $18.25 per hour.
