The Role

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager of Risk, you will manage the planning and delivery of projects within our portfolio. Depending on the scope of the project you may perform the tasks below, or for larger projects, may support the Senior PM in the delivery of this work. You will be responsible for coordinating the successful planning, execution, and completion of various projects, while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. Your knowledge of risk management will be crucial in ensuring project success and driving effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

 

What You'll Do

  • Managing the project: define the objectives of the project and produce project lifecycle planning documents including project scope, budget and schedule that effectively capture the depth and breadth of the project and the inputs from associated stakeholders.
  • Identifying and assessing risk: proactively identify and assess project risks, including potential threats and opportunities; conduct risk analysis to determine their impact on project objectives and stakeholders; collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans; and regularly monitor and update risk registers, documenting identified risks and mitigation efforts.
  • Mitigating and monitoring risk: implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential negative impacts; and coordinate risk response activities.
  • Managing project reporting activities: monitor project progress and provide required project reports to Senior Project Manager/client.
  • Coordinating the teams: attend all project meetings to ensure all stakeholders are consistently aligned, personnel are assigned correctly, and issues are discussed and resolved in a prompt manner.
  • Managing project stakeholders: work and engage with various project stakeholders as directed by the Senior Project Manager/client. Follow established communication protocols to ensure all project stakeholders receive relevant information required for accurate progress monitoring and decision making.
  • Mentoring: support junior project managers by providing them with guidance and support in their tasks. Continue your ongoing development by participating in our mentorship program, partnering with a mentor for coaching and advice.

 

What You'll Bring

  • Strong team player with a growth mindset and a passion for what you do!
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, Quantity Surveying, or another relevant field. Professional designations such as P. Eng /OAA/PQS/RPP/NCIDQ are assets.
  • 4 years+ experience as a Project Manager supporting construction, design or engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management best practices and a track record of successful delivery. PMP designation is an asset.
  • Excellent listening and critical thinking skills, sound judgement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • High degree of proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word and Project.

  • Eligibility to obtain security clearance. Asset: existing security clearance.
