We are seeking a passionate and results-driven individual to join us as a 310T Certified Truck and Coach Apprentice Mechanic. You will be expected to enroll in the Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship accredited program through the Ontario College of Trades by September 2024. 

 

We will support your skill development throughout the program, with the goal of advancing you to a Licensed Mechanic position within the company. As an Truck and Coach Apprentice Mechanic, you will join the fleet repair team and assist in all aspects of fleet and facilities repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring our roadside heroes can provide safe and timely service to our members.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following:

Education:  Candidates must be enrolled by September 2024 semester in an Automotive Services Technician Apprenticeship Program at an accredited post-secondary school, maintaining continuous enrollment in the program and successfully completing the course.

Experience: automotive background; relevant work and/or co-op experience will be considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to use many different tools: computerized, powered, diagnostic, etc.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills 
  • Strong independent worker who thrives in a teamwork-based environment

Characteristics: Independent, hard-working individual with the desire to continuously upgrade and learn new skills; positive and energetic customer-focused professional with strong interpersonal skills and an aptitude for meeting tight deadlines all while maintaining safe work practices.

Requirements:

  • Must have a G-Class license
  • Must have ability to lift up to 70 lbs and bend, twist, kneel, push, pull throughout the day
  • Completion of Propane Certificate or currently pursuing (must obtain)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As CAA Niagara’s Truck and Coach Apprentice Mechanic, you will be supporting the business in the following areas, including, but not limited to: Assisting with the inspection, diagnosis and repair of all fleet vehicles and equipment, as trained by the licensed mechanics
  • Completing scheduled maintenance such as cleaning, fueling, oil changes, part replacements, etc. 
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer and driver satisfaction
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Adhering to all applicable safety standards, along with all operational policies and procedures
  • Communicating with licensed mechanics and emergency roadside service drivers and managers on completion status of vehicles and/or applicable work assigned
  • Facility and maintenance repairs as required
