AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC OVERVIEW:

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll dive into the heart of vehicles, diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and keeping everything running smoothly. REQUIREMENTS:

 

To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following:

 

Education: 

  • Certification in either Automotive 310S or Truck and Coach 310T is required
  • Completion of Propane Certificate or currently pursuing (must obtain)

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic technician
  • EV Training (asset)

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a G-Class license
  • Must have ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and bend, twist, kneel, push, pull throughout the day
  • Proficiency with power tools

Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to use many different tools: computerized, powered, diagnostic, etc.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills 
  • Strong independent worker who thrives in a teamwork-based environment
  • Capable of autonomous work and proactive work habits

Characteristics: Successful candidate will have the desire to continuously upgrade and learn new skills; positive and energetic customer-focused professional with strong interpersonal skills and an aptitude for meeting tight deadlines all while maintaining safe work practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As CAA Niagara’s Automotive Mechanic, you will be supporting the business in the following areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting with the inspection, diagnosis and repair of all fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Completing scheduled maintenance such as cleaning, fueling, oil changes, part replacements, etc. 
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer and driver satisfaction
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Adhering to all applicable safety standards, along with all operational policies and procedures
  • Communicating with team and emergency roadside service drivers and managers on completion status of vehicles and/or applicable work assigned
  • Facility and maintenance repairs as required
