Greenfield is looking for a Junior Process Engineer to join our growing team. 

This position is responsible for the development of process P&IDs, design specifications for equipment and instrumentation necessary for capital projects at the Chatham site. The engineer will coordinate equipment installations with plant personnel to ensure the process needs are maintained. Role will incorporate industry best practice and standardizations into design and be key member in upkeep of plant standards. Individual will be responsible for process data analysis utilizing DCS data historian to diagnose production issues and to develop appropriate solutions.

Your Experience Should Include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with P. Eng. Designation or working towards
  • 1-3 years of related experience. Prior leadership experience is an asset
  • Resourceful and practical, with demonstrated problem solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills paired with an ability of managing multiple projects with competing demands
  • Maintains safety standards while working to achieve business objectives
  • DCS / PLC experience is an asset
  • PI Software / Power BI program experience is an asset
  • Process Simulation Software experience such as Aspen HYSYS, AFT Fathom & Arrow is an asset 
  • AutoCAD experience and drafting experience is a benefit.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Comply with all Company health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of each process area, and the interrelationship between process areas, from the perspectives of chemical reactions, raw material consumption, mass and energy balance
  • Familiarization and knowledge of ethanol industry and standards
  • Provide technical assistance to the production team for troubleshooting, problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Support the engineering team; assist in field mark-ups of ‘As-Built’ drawings; corrective actions from audits and RCA’s as well as data entry and modifications to PI reports and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Work with suppliers and the research and development team to develop and maintain best-in-class operating procedures and to optimize the performance of their products
  • Provide Process Engineering support for Capex projects through the development of financial justifications
  • Inform and communicate the impacts that new process and equipment will have on other plant areas
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support project initiatives including project timelines, progress reports, P&IDs, operating and maintenance procedures
  • Adhere to and support the MOC process. Mentor site on MOC workflow, maintain appropriate documentation and train users on effective use of the tools
  • Participate as department representative for continuous improvement initiatives, Root Cause Analysis, HAZOPs, and design reviews
  • Provide cross department coverage and outage coverage to support uninterrupted plant production
