The Opportunity

This Calgary-based role will provide critical support to the Wolf NGL business with a strong focus on commercial contract management, optimization, and customer support. The role will develop critical information to enhance NGL Commercial decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven individual with an exceptional history of high performance, excellent customer service, and strong analytical and presentation skills to be a key contributing member of the team, furthering opportunities for our growing NGL business.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Commercial and working closely with the Manager, Commercial Operations as well as multiple stakeholders around the organization, the key responsibilities will include:


Commercial Operations

  • Managing customer relationships and related commodity contracts for Ethane, Natural Gas and Power.
  • Optimize, develop, and present commercial strategies, proposals, and contracts to customers and senior leadership.
  • Manage and negotiate commercial aspects of utilities and supply agreements.
  • Support and mentor the NGL Analyst to ensure commercial model accuracy of key agreements.
  • Maintain industry supply/demand models and price forecasting.  
  • Assist with key industry committees.
  • Work closely with marketing accounting to ensure accuracy of invoicing, volume balancing and reconciliations.
  • Assist with the commercial aspects of TIER, including the management of Carbon Credits.
  • Provide backup and vacation support for C3+ contracts and logistics.


Qualifications and Experience


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering.


  • Minimum 5-8 years related experience in the financial or midstream energy industry.


  • Previous midstream sector experience in commercial, marketing or operations roles.
  • Commercial ethane, natural gas, and/or power marketing experience is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of value creation, economic analysis, financial performance measurement.
  • Previous experience with commercial agreement negotiation and execution.
  • Ability to communicate well, harness relationships and explain complex issues in easy to understand ways.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact with numerous stakeholders.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong customer service skills, problem-solving acumen, and high attention to detail.
