OUR TEAM

The Financial Planning & Analysis Team works collaboratively with the organization to deliver budgeting and forecasting for the Authority. The team works alongside business unit owners to develop valuable reporting and innovative data visualizations that provide detailed analysis and insights to support quality decision making. WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role will assist the Senior Financial Analyst along with other subject matter experts in gathering, validating, and documenting information required for developing recommendations and will source, document, and prepare reports that are used to influence business decisions. The Financial Planning Analyst will carry out in-depth evaluation and verification of data and will maintain data as appropriate. This role will assist in the development of visualizations, presentations, reports, and memos to display data for use in organizational decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist in developing business cases and assessing financial implications for new initiatives and contracts.
  • Prepare financial analyses and return calculations for new agreements.
  • Evaluate financial benefits, potential risks, and impacts of projects.
  • Perform detailed analysis of large datasets for business insights to improve financial, operational, and customer service outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other business units to provide recommendations.
  • Collect and enter monthly passenger statistics into CASPR database.
  • Review, verify, and audit passenger statistics for accuracy.
  • Prepare and update databases reflecting passenger trends.
  • Stay informed on passenger trends and assist with forecasting.
  • Compile, monitor, and disseminate CAIS and ACI benchmarking reports.
  • Ensure quality and relevance of reports to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare and distribute Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual CAIS Reports.
  • Work with stakeholders to manage and compile data from participating airports.
  • Act as primary liaison with Accounting and Supply Chain teams.
  • Investigate and identify variances between projections and actuals.
  • Determine types of variances to identify problems and recommend solutions for increased efficiency and accurate projections.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of core concepts such as Debits, Credits, and Accruals.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
  • Familiarity with basic auditing procedures and principles.
  • Knowledge of management accounting techniques.
  • Skill in analyzing variances between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Understanding key finance concepts including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), nominal vs. real value, debt structures, interest calculations, future values, and currency exchange concepts.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods and mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to develop basic business plans.
  • Proficient in using advanced formulas such as Lookups, Index, Indirect, SUMIFS, and financial functions.
  • Skilled in Array Formulas and advanced naming conventions.
  • Expertise in creating and analyzing Pivot Tables, Data Filtering, and Excel Tables.
  • Ability to produce advanced charts, manipulate text, and query external data.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of working with text files and Adobe Professional.
  • Experience with web scraping techniques.
  • Familiarity with OLAP Cubes and FRx (Financial Report Extender).
  • Experience with financial systems and tools such as Epicor, CABS, CREG, CPMS, CPERS, BMRS, PowerLogic, and Diio Mi.
  • Ability to use tools like Excel, Crystal Reports, and Adobe Professional for compiling and presenting reports.
  • Competency in using PowerPoint to create and present charts and data visualizations.
  • Skilled in conveying complex information clearly through documents and reports.

WHAT ELSE

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC).
  • This role will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work model.
  • Pursuit or possession of certifications such as CPA or Business Intelligence certifications is considered advantageous.
  • Completion of courses related to databases, solution development, requirements gathering, and reporting solutions is beneficial.
