The Opportunity:


Under Sunwing Vacations Group, we are looking for a UI/UX Designer (12-Month Contract) to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the UI/UX Designer, you will research, investigate, and assess requirements to ensure the optimal user experience. You will be accountable for designing and implementing UI/UX best practices across all digital platforms. This position reports to the Senior Product Manager, Digital User Experience and is based in Toronto, ON.


What You’ll Do:


  • Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, user journeys, designs, and prototypes (using Figma and Adobe XD).
  • Ensure that the UI visually communicates the path forward.
  • Design user interfaces that are visually appealing and consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and front-end developers to ensure UI designs are implemented accurately.
  • Create and maintain design systems and style guides for scalability and consistency across applications and websites.
  • Iterate designs based on feedback and usability testing to enhance user interactions.
  • Evaluate competitors and industry trends to stay informed about best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and QA.
  • Consider accessibility guidelines (such as WCAG) to design inclusive user experiences.
  • Advocate for accessibility standards and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Review analytics and heat maps to inform decision-making for improvements.
  • Identify the most impactful idea and transform them into compelling user experiences that elevate our products.
  • A/B testing analyzes results and make the decision for improvements.


 What You’ll Need:


  • 1-3 years’ experience in UX/UI design roles, preferably in digital products or web applications.
  • Proficiency in UX/UI design tools such as Figma, FigJam, Adobe XD, or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Experience in creating visually appealing and user-centric interfaces that align with brand guidelines.
  • Ability to iterate designs based on feedback and usability testing.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated attention to design consistency, interaction details, and accessibility considerations.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and conduct audits for compliance.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
  • Positive and enthusiastic team player.
  • Decisive and capable of making informed decisions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with information architecture and interaction design.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Extensive understanding of mobile and web platforms.
