The Opportunity:
The Toronto Sun is seeking an exceptional multimedia journalist for its busy newsroom.
What you'll do:
- Our fast-paced newsroom is seeking a journalist who excels at offering creative ideas for stories and feature articles.
- A journalist who loves the rush of chasing a good story and excels at creating engaging online multimedia content.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to cover everything from crime to pop culture.
- You will cover politics at all levels of government and have a keen understanding of the Sun brand.
- You must be able to work on multiple stories at a time and have a thorough knowledge of what it means to be web-first.
Who you are:
- A journalism degree or diploma
- At least five years of experience in a fast-paced and evolving media environment
- Proven ability to deliver accurate and compelling news reports on tight deadlines
- Superior writing skills and news judgment
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- A respected social media footprint
- Familiarity with appearing on video
- Proficiency in photography, videography (video editing an asset) and knowledge of multimedia reporting
- Experience in web posting
- Applicant must own a reliable vehicle with insurance for work purposes.
The position involves shift work, including evenings and weekends.
