Job Summary:

The Production Technician effectively performs all setups and operational adjustments required on the packaging equipment, as well as any minor mechanical repairs, as per the TQ Maintenance Technician on shift. They also train operators to setup and adjust all packaging equipment to achieve the most efficient production possible. The Production Technician will take into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to your area of responsibility.

 

 

Job Description:

  • Set up and adjust packaging equipment with Lead Hands and Operators
  • Train Operators on setup and troubleshooting of line problems
  • Optimize line performance to achieve highest running speeds possible
  • Assist Operators in setting up and tooling up quickly
  • Solve problems with equipment reliability and report to technical Maintenance team members as required
  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedule as required
  • Complete setups and write work reports on any deficiencies and problems
  • Read equipment manuals and maintain technical knowledge on equipment
  • Perform change overs efficiently by practicing S.M.E.D. improvements (Single Minute Exchange of Dies)
  • Wash equipment as per GMP standards and SOP’s
  • Other maintenance projects on packaging lines as required
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts (Kamban)
  • Outsource parts/tools for machine repairs and production needs
  • Create and maintain Work Procedures that will be followed for change overs and operation of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

Technical

  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience with operation and setup of manufacturing equipment
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) knowledge
  • Ability to troubleshoot and use hand tools
