The Maintenance Setup Technician is tasked with training packaging staff, troubleshooting equipment issues, and optimizing packaging processes to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to test new products and suppliers, ensuring compatibility and efficiency. Committed to safety, they maintain adherence to standards while fostering a safe and efficient working environment for all team members. Additionally, the Maintenance Setup Technician maintains accurate inventory levels and assists with planned maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted operation of the packaging lines.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Work Sunday to Thursday 10:00 pm - 6:30 am
  • Provide comprehensive technical training to packaging line operators, ensuring proficiency in setup, operation, and changeover procedures.
  • Expertly troubleshoot issues on the packaging line, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for setup, operation, and changeover procedures, fostering consistency and efficiency in packaging processes.
  • Lead the testing of new products and suppliers, ensuring compatibility and manufacturability with packaging processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize packaging processes, maintain inventory levels, and uphold safety protocols, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and readiness to contribute to various maintenance projects and tasks on the packaging lines as required.

 

You have:

  • Minimum two years of post-secondary education in a trades discipline
  • Minimum three years of experience in manufacturing or packaging, with expertise in packaging line operations and equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, along with knowledge of GMP and safety standards
  • Excellent communication, training, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet production deadlines, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move objects of up to 50 lbs., demonstrating proactive safety awareness and setting a positive example for colleagues.
